10-15 grammar or spelling errors. Fragments, Run-ons, misspellings, wrong puncutation detract from reading. Reader must sort through ideas.
Good

5-10 grammar and spelling errors Paper is readable. Sentences make sense with proper punctuation and grammar.
Excellent

Fewer than 5 errors. Complex sentences and correct spelling add to the paper's flow and meaning
Organization

Unacceptable

Thoughts are incomplete and disjointed. No use of paragraphs, sentences, or transitions to lead the reader.
Poor

Some thoughts stand alone or are incomplete. Ideas are not cohesive, nor ordered in paragraphs. Lack of transitions
Fair/Average

Some cohesiveness of ideas, but interrupted by off-subject ideas or rambling. Repetitive sentences or ideas. Few transitions.
Good

Ideas are organized and cohesive, separated into paragraphs. Transition statements used.
Excellent

Ideas are cohesive and clear, formulated into paragraphs. Introductions, Conclusions, and tranisitons add to the clarity of ideas.
Completeness of Information

Unacceptable

Paper is off subject entirely.
Poor

Paper skirts the subject but does not hit the target
Fair/Average

Paper is on subject, but is general and lacks specific examples, details, or arguments. If paper is persuasive, arguments are not backed up.
Good

Subject is addressed clearly. Some specific examples, details and arguments are used
Excellent

Subject is clearlyaddressed. Specific examples and details support hypotheses or arguments and enhance the overall meaning of the paper.
