Students in the D. C. Everest Senior High Band program are expected to be punctual, prepared, and exhibit a good work ethic, attitude and responsibility. _______________________________________________________

Puntuality/Set Up

Proficient - A

Student is sometimes late (2-3) arriving to rehearsal, class, and/or is usually set up and ready to play within a reasonable time of the class bell (2 min or less).
Advanced - A

Student is never late arriving to rehearsal, class, and/or is always set up and ready to play within a reasonable time of the class bell <BR>
(2 minutes or less).
Basic - B

Student is generally late (4-5 times) arriving to rehearsal, class, and/or is sometimes not set up and ready to play within a reasonable time of the class bell (2 min or less).
Below Basic - C

Student is always late arriving to rehearsal, class, and/or is never set up and ready to play within a reasonable time of the class bell. (>2Min.)
Preparedness

Proficient - A

Student usually comes to band with all the appropriate materials including: own music, pencil, instrument/sticks and equipment.
Advanced - A

Student always comes to band with all the appropriate materials including: own music, pencil, instrument/sticks and equipment.
Basic - B

Student sometimes comes to band with all the appropriate materials including: own music, pencil, instrument/sticks and equipment.
Below Basic - C

Student rarely comes to band with all the appropriate materials including: own music in folder, pencil, instrument or sticks, equipment
Practice/Homework

Proficient - A

Student sometimes practices outside of band class to work on becoming a better student musician.
Advanced - A

Student always practices outside of band class and always takes instrument home or always uses a practice room to work on becoming a better student musician.
Basic - B

Student rarely practices outside of band class to work on becoming a better student musician.
Below Basic - C

Student never practices outside of band class and never/rarely, takes instrument home, to work on becoming a better student musician.
Attitude

Proficient - A

Student is hardly ever disruptive during rehearsal and/or usually participates in listening across the band or to the band director's instructions.
Advanced - A

Student is never disruptive during rehearsal/class and participates in class daily, listening across the band or to the band director.
Basic - B

Student is usually disruptive during rehearsal and/or sometimes participates in listening across the band or to the band director's instructions. Student is usually talking to classmates as well.
Below Basic - C

Student is always disruptive during rehearsal and/or doesn't participate in listening across the band and never listens to the band director. Student is never attentive, and always talking in class.
Care of Instr./Music/Equip.

Proficient - A

Student usually cares for school/personal property in the band room. Including: instruments, music, percussion area, equipment, practice rooms, etc.
Advanced - A

Student always cares for school/personal property in the band room. Including: instruments, music, percussion area, equipment, practice rooms, etc.
Basic - B

Student sometimes cares for school/personal property in the band room. Including: instr., music, percussion area, equipment, practice rooms, etc.
Below Basic - C

Student rarely cares for school/personal property in the band room. Including: instruments, music, percussion area, equipment, practice rooms, etc.
