Shape Assessment Grading Rubric 
This rubric is designed to give an idea on how I will grade their assignments(students were required to identify different shapes from a single picture, list the numbers of each shape, and distinguish them by coloring them with different colors) that was given to assess their knowledge on shapes.

Student shows his/her knowledge of the differences between regular and irregular polygons. They could easily recall the exact titles of shapes that appeared throughout the lesson.

Student makes an effort to learn new concept, yet they need more review of past terms to correct mistakes. Differences between polygons is understood.

Student identifies polygons on activity sheet with a few mistakes. Does not correctly identify number of irregular polygons vs. regular polygons. Close, but not quite.
Novice

Student failed to identify the correct number of different polygons on the activity sheet. Proper names are not listed.

Student draws and colors shapes in detail using a ruler. All regular polygons have equal and correct number of sides and are properly drawn.
All required shapes were used.
All shapes used were correctly labelled.
Use of imagination and creativity is evident.

Student draws shapes using a ruler to make regular and irregular polygons.
All shapes are represented in drawing. All shapes are correctly labelled.
Intermediate

Some shapes lost its form during the process of coloring. An effort is made in using all listed shapes and proper labelling. Some mistakes were made with shape titles.
Novice

Student colored the shapes without distinguishing them by using different colors, and the forms of the shapes were lost during the process of colouring.
Not all shapes where drawn nor where those drawn correctly labelled.
