Conventions	Poor Student does not leave spaces between words. Student commits more than 4 errors with capital/lowercase letters and punctuation. Most sight words are spelled incorrectly, over 4 errors.	Fair Students misuse some capital/lowercase letters 2-3 errors. Students misplace some punctuation. Handwriting is legible. Few sight words are spelled incorrectly, 2-3 errors.	Good Students use appropriate space, capital/lowercase letters in writing. Students also use appropriate punctuation marks within work and has clear, neat handwriting. Sight words are spelled correctly.
Picture	Poor Student scribbles, or draws picture that is irrelevant to story.	Fair Student draws picture without much detail but is relevent to story.	Good Student draws a very detailed picture with appropriate colors clearly matching his/her story.
Story	Poor Student does not attempt to write a story with a beginning, middle and end.	Fair Student writes one large paragraph with somewhat of a beginning, middle and end of story.	Good Student writes clear beginning, middle and ending of story.
