Introduction Includes "catching" introduction and solid thesis statement which gives purpose to the essay and tells at least three major points the essay will discuss.	Beginner	Emerging	Average	Good	Advanced

Conclusion Concluding paragraph states main ideas of the paper one more time in proper summary form. Points are clearly and completely tied back to the purpose of the essay.
