Introduction	Excellent The speaker introduced the speech well, including an attention getter and a preview of main points of the speech. The speaker was enthusiastic about the topic and brought the audience into the speech.	Good The speaker introduced the speech adequately, including an attention getter and a preview of the main points of the speech.	Fair The speaker introduced the speech, but some details were unclear. The introduction lacked an attention getter and/or a preview of main points.	Needs Improvement The speaker failed to introduce the speech OR the introduction was not useful in indicating what the speech was about.
Content	Excellent Logical, coherent organization and relevant information helped convey the speaker's message clearly. Detail and word choice were appropriate to the purpose. Smooth transitions were used.	Good The speaker used logical order and relevant details to deliver his/her information. Adequate transitions were used.	Fair The speaker delivered adequate information about the topic. The speech lacked organization and/or detail to the extent that some main points were unclear.	Needs Improvement The speech was difficult to follow due to a lack of organization. Little detail was given to support the main points.
Language/Vocabulary	Excellent Student uses age appropriate technical vocabulary and shows understanding of the language used.	Good Student uses the correct vocabulary for topic and seems to understand the meanings.	Fair The student uses overly simple vocabulary to discuss the topic, but is able to convey the overall meaning.	Needs Improvement The students vocabulary does not match the topic nor is age appropriate. (Too Simple)
Visual	Excellent Aesthetically appealing to the eye. The student took pride in their visual appearance and their visual aid if used. There is organization.	Good Student appearance shows effort to present professional face and there is noticeable organization and attempts at creating a strong presence visually.	Fair There was some attempt at looking their best and/or creating something presentable.	Needs Improvement Everything was a hot mess.
Conclusion	Excellent The speaker quickly summarized the main points, referred back to the introduction to bring the speech full circle, and left the audience with a lasting impression.	Good The speaker concluded the speech by adequately summarizing the main points.	Fair The speaker concluded the speech in a disorganized fashion.	Needs Improvement The speaker ended the speech abruptly without conclusion.
Voice	Excellent Consistent and effective volume, articulation, and expression were present in the speaker's voice. Appropriate rate and pausing were employed.	Good The student spoke loudly and clearly enough to be easily understood. The speaker used adequate expression and rate.	Fair The student could be heard most of the time but at certain points was inaudible. Little expression was shown.	Needs Improvement Audience had difficulty hearing and/or understanding much of the speech due to low volume. Very little expression was shown.

Body Language	Excellent The speaker maintained good posture. Movements were purposeful and enhanced the delivery of the speech. Fair The speaker had some distracting movement during delivery. Facial expressions seemed forced or absent.
