Dart Board Creation

The dartboard should have a geometric pattern with different colored areas.

Poor

Minimal effort was put into making the dart board. Does not have a geometric design and is not colored.
Fair

Student has created a geometric design and has colored the different areas.
Good

Student has created an intricate geometric design and the coloring of the different areas is part of the geometric patterns.
Finding the probability of areas

Students are to find the probability of the different colored areas on their dartboards.

Poor

Students do not attempt to find the probability for the different areas. They estimate what they believe the different areas would be.
Fair

Students attempt to find the probabilities for the different areas. There method was correct but they made some mathematical error to cause the probabilities for the area to be off.
Good

Students accurately find the probability for the different areas using correct mathematical practices.
Gathering of Data

Students will gather data for their targets using a distance of 5 feet, 10 feet and 15 feet. Students must have at least 20 different dart throws from each distance.

Poor

As students gather data they do not do it accurately when measuring out the distance of the throw, where the darts hit and how many darts are being thrown.
Fair

Students gather the data correctly in the fact that they measure the correct distances, verify where the darts are land and how many darts are thrown. However, students do not gather enough data.
Good

Students gather the data correctly in the fact that they measure the correct distances, verify where the darts are land and how many darts are thrown. Students gather enough data or even more then the recommended amount.
Interpreting Data Results

Students will use the data that they gathered to find the Standard of error, Confidence Interval and the Probability for each colored area.

Poor

Students do not attempt to figure out the Standard of Error, Confidence Interval and the Probability.
Fair

Students attempt to figure out the Standard of Error, Confidence Interval and the Probability. However, students had an error in their mathematical calculations.
Good

Students figure out the Standard of Error, Confidence Interval and the Probability using correct mathematical practices.
