Creativity	Basic There is no creativity or orginality shown in the writing. The letter is telling and no showing of what the writer has learned.	Proficient The writer shows creativity and originality. Ideas are exciting and honest. The writer expresses his/ her personality.	Advanced The writer has shown creatvity and originality. Ideas are exciting, original and powerful The writer fully expresses his/ her writing in a way no one else will. Done on an antique medium or paper.
Role Assumption 1st person from the historical figure	Basic Letter does not reflect the character or situation. Character development is lacking and his/her actions are not consistent with what one might expect of the time period. Breaks character multiple times	Proficient Piece reflects the role and situation effectively with consideration for time period. Character development is done well and existence of the character and his/her actions is mostly consistent with what one might expect of the time period. Only breaks character in minor areas.	Advanced Role and situation are assumed with creativity and effectiveness. Character development is achieved masterfully and existence of the character and his/her actions is entirely consistent with what one might expect of the time period. Never breaks character.
Requirements historical events what makes them famous charitable work	Basic Letter covers 2 or less required elements and writing is rough.	Proficient Letter attempts to convince audience of requirements but is not effective. Only some of the required elements, but does so in a non-cohesive manner in the writing.	Advanced Letter is creative and effective in conveying believability. All required elements are covered and they blend into the story and time period.
Ideas & Content	Basic There is not any information shared on the topic. Ideas are vague and random.	Proficient There is some information shared on the topic. Ideas begin to become clearer and are rleated to the topic, but sometimes strays away from the topic.	Advanced The information shared relates to the topic. The writer has shown they know alot about the topic and add interesting details.
