Time 33.33 pts Was able to demonstrate the skill with added external pressure.	Poor Student successfully completed and secured the splint within 5 minutes.	Fair Student successfully completed and secured the splint within 4 minutes	Good Student successfully completed and secured the splint within 3 minutes
Knowledge 33.33 pts Applied the proper splinting technique in a manner that did not cause further injury or pain to the victim/patient. The splint successfully immobilized the injury	Poor The student did not have any knowledge or idea of the appropriate splinting technique to apply to the injury.	Fair The student applied a splint but was not 100% sure of the technique or effectiveness of the splint. Student did not check for FACTS before and after.	Good Student applied the proper splinting technique, to successfully immobilize the injury without causing further injury and pain. Student also checked FACTS before and after.
Neatness 33.3 pts The splint was applied in a neat and presentable way that would reflect that the student had proper training in applying splints.	Poor Splinting technique was not stable and secure; rolled up cravats; caused further injury by moving the injured body part too much.	Fair Student applied the proper splint but did not secure the splint properly; student could have been a lot neater.	Good The splint was applied neatly. All hard splints were padded at the rough ends that were close to soft tissue; cravats were folded and not rolled; splints were tied on the splint itself
