Performance Rubric
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts	Excellent 4 pts
Musicality	Poor Audience cannot understand piece because there has clearly been little to no practice	Fair Audience has difficulty following presentation because student is stopping and starting	Good Student has a fluid playing style and has clearly practiced.	Excellent Student plays fluidly and with a range of dynamics, styles, and ease.
Subject Knowledge	Poor Student does not have grasp of information; student cannot display the musical idea(s) of the piece.	Fair Student is uncomfortable with information and is able to answer only rudimentary questions.	Good Student is at ease with expected answers to all questions, but fails to elaborate.	Excellent Student demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) by answering all class questions with explanations and elaboration.
Mechanics	Poor Student does not use correct bowing/sticking/phrasing.	Fair Student uses occasionally correct bowing/sticking/phrasing.	Good Student consistently uses correct bowing/sticking/phrasing.	Excellent Student shows a mastery of bowing/sticking/phrasing and does so with ease.
Performance Etiquette	Poor Student is improperly dressed, has no music, does not have their composer's dates, tuned instrument.	Fair Student is dressed acceptably, has music, does not have composer's dates, instrument isn't tuned.	Good Student is well dressed, has their music, tuned instrument, and composer's dates.	Excellent Student is well dressed, has their music, tuned instrument and composer's dates with a brief background of their piece.
