This is a rubric for a poetry book consisting of several samples of different forms of poetry.

Completion	Exceeds Average Student includes all poems taught and written in class.	Above Average Student is missing one poem.	Average Student is missing 2 poems.	Below Average Student is missing more than 2 poems.	Far Below Average Student has less than half the poems completed.
Word Choice	Exceeds Average Student correctly uses figurative language: simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, and onomatopoeia.	Above Average Student attempts to write figurative language: simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, and onomatopoeia.	Average Student attempts to write figurative language, but is missing one component: simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, and onomatopoeia.	Below Average Student attempts to write figurative language, but is missing two components: simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, and onomatopoeia.
