Students will be asked to listen to a set of four spoken words by the teacher. They will be instructed to find the word that does not belong due to beginning sounds. (i.e. grass, green, gate, big.....the student should choose the word big because it does not begin with a g)
When asked to substitute a sound in a word, students are able to make new words. For example: Change the /b/ in bat to /c/. (cat)
When students are asked to look at a set of 8 word cards (which contain the word and a picture), they can find the sets of rhyming words.
