PD students will write an essay attempting to answer the following questions: Why did people come? Where did they come from? What challenges did they face getting there? What challenges did they face, once they got to California? What was great about the CA Gold Rush? What was unfair? What did they leave behind? What did they return with? What were the effects on the Gold Rush to the Native Americans? How did the Gold rush affect California? Who suffered the most? Who was most successful? Why did people get along at first and they later turn to violence with each other? Could there have been a better way to have a gold rush? How did women get treated? How did women succeed? Who made the most money?
