Persuasive Writing
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts	Excellent 4 pts
Main/Topic Idea Sentences	Poor The topic does not appear in either the first or last sentence.	Fair The topic is not stated in the first sentence but is stated in the last.	Good First sentence states the topic clearly but the last sentence does not restate the topic clearly.	Excellent First sentence states the topic clearly and is restated in the closing sentence.
Supporting Detail Sentences	Poor Writing does not have any convincing reasons.	Fair Writing has only one convincing reasons.	Good Writing has only two convincing reasons.	Excellent Writing has three or more convincing reasons.
Legibility	Poor Writing is not in cursive and is not legible.	Fair Writing is not in cursive but is legible.	Good Writing is in cursive but marginally legible.	Excellent Writing is legible and in cursive.
Mechanics and Grammar	Poor Writing has six or more errors in punctuation, capitalization, and spelling.	Fair Writing has three to five errors in punctuation, capitalization, and spelling.	Good Writing has one or two erros in pucuation, capitalization, and spelling.	Excellent Writing has no errors in puncuation, capitalization, and spelling.

Excellent Heading is written correctly and picture is colored with effort put into it.
