Student does not have grasp of information; student cannot answer questions about subject.

Student is uncomfortable with information and is able to answer only rudimentary questions.

Student is at ease with expected answers to all questions, but fails to elaborate.
Excellent
Student demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) by answering all class questions with explanations and elaboration.
Visual display
Poor
Student uses an extremely poor visual display, mostly words, and reads entirely from it.
Fair
Student uses visual display that rarely supports their presentation and often reads from it.
Good
Student relates presentation to visual display effectively but misses the mark on a several occasions by reading the text
Excellent
Student's visual display thoroughly explains and reinforces their knowledge of the subject topic. Does not read the text. Display shows more pictures and less words.
Body Language
Poor
Student has arms crossed or in pockets; body language displays no confidence; posture detracts from presentation
Fair
Student displays occasional gestures of confidence but mostly hides behind a podium; hands become a distraction once in a while
Good
Student shows confidence in hand and body gestures but still remains behind the podium, occasionally gestures to a visual piece of the presentation
Excellent
Student engages the audience by walking around the room, hands and body express a passion for the topic which enhances the presentation.
Eye Contact and Voice
Poor
Student reads all of report with no eye contact.
Student mumbles, incorrectly pronounces terms, and speaks too quietly for students in the back of class to hear.
Fair
Student occasionally uses eye contact, but still reads most of report.
Student's voice is low. Student incorrectly pronounces terms. Audience members have difficulty hearing presentation.
Good
Student maintains eye contact most of the time but frequently returns to notes.
Student's voice is clear. Student pronounces most words correctly. Most audience members can hear presentation.
Excellent
Student maintains eye contact with audience, seldom returning to notes.
Student uses a clear voice and correct, precise pronunciation of terms so that all audience members can hear presentation.
