Content 40 %	Excellent Student utilizes elements from the novel to skillfully create a project which adds his or her own evaluation & interpretation of events, characters, theme.	Good Student utilizes elements from the novel to sufficiently create a project which adds a good evaluation & interpretation of the events, characters, theme.	Satisfactory Student utilizes some elements from the novel to evaluate.	Fair Student does not utilize sufficient elements to demonstrate thorough analysis/evaluation of events, characters, theme.	Poor Student does not demonstrate evaluation or analysis of the novel.
Creativity 40 %	Excellent Project has extremely creative and original ideas. Excellent choice of project which truly shows the student's creative talents. The project has a strong student 'voice'.	Good Project has several creative and original ideas. Most aspects of the project demonstrate some level of creativity and a satisfactory and unique voice.	Satisfactory Project has some creative and original ideas. Some aspects of the project demonstrate some level of creativity and a satisfactory and unique voice.	Fair Project has minimal creativity and original ideas. Most components are a literal interpretation of the text. The student's unique voice was lacking.	Poor Project has little to no creative and original ideas. The project does not demonstrate higher order thinking.
Effort 20 %	Excellent Demonstrates clear and insightful evaluation of the the novel and work as a whole. Effort is obvious!	Good Shows time and thought went into the evaluation and execution of the project.	Satisfactory Shows evidence of time, thought and preparation; however, the final result may fall short in presenting thorough analysis of novel.	Fair Shows little evidence of time in the project. Minimum amount of effort in project.	Poor Virtually no time or effort in the project. Looks like a last ditch effort to turn something in.
