Grammar/ Spelling/ Punctuation	Excellent Final draft is clearly edited. All Grammar and Spelling is used correctly, few or no mistakes are made.	Good Final draft would have benefited from another editing session. Some grammar and spelling mistakes are made.	Fair Final draft is clearly unedited. A great deal of spelling and grammar mistakes are made.	Poor/Unacceptable Spelling and Grammar mistakes interfere with the reading and understanding of the paper. Rough draft is not included or unedited.
Thesis Statement	Excellent Thesis is clear and found at the beginning of the opening or first paragraph. Thesis presents a clear topic for the rest of the paper.	Good Thesis is present and in the proper place. Thesis expresses the main topic, however it is not as strong as it could be. There does not fully express the main topic.	Fair Thesis is missing or not a true thesis. Thesis does not relate to the paper or express the main idea of the paper.	Poor/Unacceptable No thesis or main idea is stated.
Paragraphs	Excellent Each paragraph flows to the next paragraph. Paragraphs follow a logical order. Ideas are logically separated into paragraphs. Paragraphs are correctly indented.	Good Some paragraphs flow to the next paragraph. Most paragraphs follow a logical order. Paragraphs are occasionally indented correctly.	Fair Paragraphs do not follow a logical order.
