Exceeds the Standard

Includes a comprehensive summary of the plot covering all the key points regarding the protagonist's conflict with exceptional clarity and obvious understanding of key information without giving away the ending. Shows the book and states the title and author.
Approaching the Standard

Includes a summary of the plot, but some points are missing or it's a little confusing, or protagonist conflict is off. Understanding of what is key needs work. Shows the class the book and states the title and author.
Does not Meet the Standard

No plot summary and/or no book brought to class and/or author or title presented. Other factors may be a lack of organization of information, a lack of understanding plot points, the conflict or the story.
Opinion and Recommendation

Exceeds the Standard

Includes an opinion on the book and detailed and specific reasons that support this opinion. Includes a specific and detailed recommendation for who would enjoy the book and why.
Approaching the Standard

Includes an opinion and recommendation for the book, but does not explain why.

Exceeds the Standard

Excellent eye contact, voice level, speed, audience interaction, and organization/preparation.

The presentation was not organized and/or the speaker read directly from the notes.
