Good The project is creative and unique. The product may be inspired by a currently available product, but the application or device have unique characteristics.	Fair The project is not unique but has creative application. It may be inspired by a currently available product.	Poor The project has no unique characteristics or creative usage.
Prototype Science	Excellence Student creates a neat and accurate visual of the prototype design with labels describing essential components.	Good Student creates a visual of the prototype design but some information may be missing or incomplete.	Fair Student created a prototype but it does not accurately reflect their product design. May not have all needed labels.	Poor Student did not create a prototype or prototype does not match product described in presentation.
Explanation Language and Science	Excellence Student can thoroughly explain their researched topic.	Good Student can explain their researched topic.	Fair Student can explain only a small part of the work.	Poor Student cannot explain any of the work.
Research and Information Fluency Language Arts/Science	Excellence Information regarding their invention and their topic is thoroughly presented in an organized manner.	Good Information regarding their invention and their topic is accurately presented in an organized manner. A few slight errors may be present. Good Student presentation is complete but it is somewhat difficult to follow. Student accurately and clearly uses expression, voice, and tone throughout most of the presentation. Final product is fairly neat and follows most basic presentation guidelines. A few insignificant flaws may be present.
