Historic Dinner Party

Students will write dialogue in the character of a historic figure with partners and present this dialogue to the class along with a written copy. The groups will design a table grouping of characters. Music and a menu will also be included.

Punctuation	Poor Student has 6 or more errors in punctuation including commas, periods, and question marks.	Fair Student has 3-5 errors in punctuation including commas, periods, and quotation marks.	Good Student has fewer than 3 errors in punctuation including commas, periods and quotation marks.
Paragraphs	Poor Student does not consistently start a new paragraph for each speaker and/or use speaker tags or clues to signal a new speaker.	Fair Student has started a new paragraph at least 80% of the time someone different is speaking and student uses speaker tags or clues to signal new speaker at least 80% of the time.	Good Student has started a new paragraph each time someone different is speaking and student uses speaker tags or clues to signal new speaker.
Captizalization	Poor Student has more than 6 errors in capitalization of proper nouns and the first words of sentences or quotations.	Fair Student has 3-5 errors in capitalization of proper nouns and the first words of sentences or quotations.	Good Students has 0-2 errors in capitalization of proper nouns and the first words of sentences or quotations.
Presentation	Poor Student does not read dialogue fluently and/or lacks any eye contact.	Fair Student reads dialogue fluently, but uses little eye contact and/or is hard to hear.	Good Student reads dialogue fluently while using eye contact and is easily heard by entire audience.
Historical Accuracy	Poor Dialogue doesn't fit the character of the individuals being portrayed.	Fair Dialogue occasionally fits the character of the individuals being portrayed.	Good Dialogue fits the character of the individuals being portrayed.
