Elements of the novel Hatchet and presentation of completed project.

The student is to research information about a specific historical figure, and then write and present a biography on this important historical figure. This biography includes information about the person's life, what led them to their chosen career or purpose, what contributions they made to society, interesting or unique facts about the person, and the student's own reflections about the impact that the person and their contributions have on modern times.

Write an analysis of your character. Identify an adjective that describes your character. Explain how this is a fitting adjective. Draw a picture of your character-use color

The students will be re-designing a previous invention or creating their own new invention and then creating an infomercial to "sell" their invention.

This rubric will be used to evaluate individual participation within a group project.

Students will be retelling a creation or similar type myth in sequence and focusing on the essential elements needed in a myth retelling.

Students will create an advertisement for a product. Advertisements should include content & usefulness of a advertising technique.

Create an engaging presentation to teach your classmates how to do something new! Be creative and be sure to practice your presentation before presenting.

Students will create a song, poem or rap. They can record on their phones, computer, or using the computer lab. Students can also use youtube to create a video as well.

Pick a scene from the play or novel and design a diorama. A diorama is a miniature scene in a box. With your created diorama, you will write a one-to two paragraph explanation of the scene and characters in the scene and why you believe this was an important scene in the play.

Students will narrate a personal memoir. The memoir should focus on the relationship of a person/place/thing and/or relate an event that had a substantial impact on the memoirist. The memoir must include effective use of dialogue, imagery, and a reflection, as well as a compelling lead psentence and a memorable concluding sentence.

Students interview another classmate and make an attempt at writing their first biographies keeping in mind facts about their classmates life.

Students will write a free-verse poem containing facts about an activitiy they enjoy.

Research the approved topic. Submit a typed paper; Include a bibliography citing at least 3 resources used researching the paper. Sources should include the internet and a book. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.

Theme/Story Elements Amusement Park Create an amusement park version of a recent novel. Include title, map key/legend, compass rose. Characters/Events/Themes from the story should be included in the various rides and places to go at the park. Add color to the park.
