	Excellent 5 pts	Good/Fair 3 pts	Poor 1 pts
Writing	Excellent Answers all parts of the prompt clearly and thoroughly. Engages the reader and has an appropriate topic for the intended audience.	Good/Fair Answers most of the prompt however it is clear and thorough. Engages the reader but may have the topic for an unrelated audience.	Poor Is unrelated to the prompt at hand or is extremely unclear and does not go into detail. Boring and has little engagement with their audience. Not appropriate for their audience.
Organization	Excellent Clearly follows a steady line of thought. Uses great transitions into next thoughts. Has a clear beginning, middle, and end. Paragraphs are spaced and indented correctly.	Good/Fair Follows a line of thought however it may not allows be clear. Uses few transitions into next thoughts or paragraphs. Confusing on where the beginning, middle, and end start and finish.	Poor No organization and steady flow of thought. No transitions. No clear beginning, middle, and end. May have no end at all.
Langauge	Excellent No Spelling or grammar errors. Synonymous words are used throughout the paper so as to add variety in conversation. Higher vocabulary. Dialogue and references are incorporated throughout.	Good/Fair Few Spelling or grammatical errors. Some synonymous words are used. Good vocabulary. Few dialogues or references used. Cited Incorrectly	Poor Lots of Spelling and/or grammatical errors. Poor vocabulary. No dialogue or references used.
