The entire page is filled.	Poor The page has a large portion of white left unpainted.	Fair A small amount of white is left on the page.	Good There is little or no white left on the page.	Excellent The entire page is filled beautifully with no white spots left unless they were added later with white paint.
The effort put into the painting	Poor The student did not even attempt to do their best work.	Fair The student put in a minimal amount of work into their painting.	Good The student worked well on their painting but could have done a little bit more to finish it.	Excellent The student did their best work. The painting was of great quality for that students ability.
Novel Accuracy	Poor The student does not understand how characters and or scenes were portrayed in the novel	Fair The student understands the novel, yet their work does not demonstrate a clear purpose, and interpretation is lacking	Good The student understands the novel to an acceptable standard.	Excellent The student understands the characters and/or scenes in the novels and has displayed them exceptionally.
Use of material	Poor The student has not chosen art material wisely	Fair Some of the art material is appropriate for the project, but the project looks messy	Good The material chosen for the project is acceptable	Excellent The material chosen for the project is exceptional.
