BEGINNING

There is no attempt to create a "bottom crust" that connects (pinches) the ILLUSTRATION to the POINT.
DEVELOPING

There is an explanation, but it doesn't clearly support the POINT of the essay as a whole. It leaves the reader feeling that the reason for that particular illustration wasn't made clear. It doesn't "pinch the crusts."
ACCOMPLISHED

The explanation clearly supports the ILLUSTRA- TION and the POINT. It shows how the illustra-tion supports the control-ling idea of the essay as a whole.

No errors in punctuation, spelling, grammar, or capitalization.
