Student clearly understood the topic in-depth and presented the information convincingly. Research on the entire breadth of the topic was demonstrated.

Major points were not supported with facts from the research.
Level 2

Most major points were supported with facts, from the research., but the relevance was sometimes questionable.
Level 3

Most major points were supported with facts from the research and were relevant to the argument.

Every major point was well supported with relevant facts from the research. Many sources of research were used in the argument.

Level 1

Counter-arguments were not accurate and/or relevant. Was unable to defend position.
