Knowledge of author

Poor

Very little research has been done. Students fail to convey any real knowledge of the author in video.
Fair

A little more work has been put into researching the assigned author. A little more could have been done, however.
Good

Covers all main points on research. Students show a definite, detailed knowledge of the author.
Excellent

Students go above and beyond. They put facts in their video that I didn't even know. I'm very proud of them.
Knowledge of author's works

Poor

Does not display any perceivable knowledge of the author's writings. Most of the video is fluff, or the video is incomplete.
Fair

Displays knowledge of works covered in class but failed to do any outside reading.
Good

Students display knowledge not only of the in-class readings but also of other works by their assigned author.
Excellent

Students display extensive knowledge of the author's works, both those covered in class and extra ones that were read on their own time. They were familiar with the author's specific writing style and could compare it to other authors.
Presentation

Poor

Video was poorly made or not complete. Failed to coordinate as a group the logistics of meeting to film.
Fair

Not too shabby, but the video could do with some sprucing up. Using something like iMovie can be a big help in this area.
Good

Well done. The video looked nice and utilized some of my recommended tools. It was the appropriate length but lacked that certain "star factor".
Excellent

Very professional presentation. The video was spot-on. The quality of the actual video really added to the overall experience and made it much easier to stay interested.
Sources

Poor

Little to no recognition to where you found your information.
Fair

Some sources were cited, but not all. Some weren't cited properly.
Good

All sources were cited.
Excellent

All sources were cited in the proper MLA format.
