Character Map Collaborative Character Map Create a character map for the protagonist of the novel. Character map needs to show characteristics of both protagonist and minor characters. Meets Standards The connections between the protagonist and the minor characters are clear.	Approaching Standards Some of the connections are accurate but character map may lack an understanding of the full picture.	Below Standards The connections between the characters are unclear and/or inaccurate.
Interpretation 25 % The interpretations of the character’s words demonstrate an understanding of his or her traits.	Above Standards Interpretations show a clear, accurate understanding of the character.	Meets Standards Interpretations show a solid understanding of the character.	Approaching Standards Interpretations show some understanding of the character.	Below Standards Interpretations show little understanding of the character.
Appearance 25 % The project is organized and neat, and provides a clear portrait of the novel’s character.	Above Standards Very neat, organized, and definitely helps the reader understand the characters.	Meets Standards Neat, organized, and helps the reader know the characters better.	Approaching Standards Fairly neat, somewhat organized, and presents a fuzzy picture of the characters.	Below Standards Messy, disorganized, and presents an unclear picture of the characters.
