Original Sonnet Writing & Presentation Rubric

Students have selected one of the sonnet types below and have written an original sonnet based on that structure (Spencerain, Petrachan, or Shakespearean). They are expected to employ, manipulate, and recite various poetic devices with mastery during the recital of this original sonnet.

Formal Usage of Language 10 %	Does Not Meet Standards Punctuation and spelling is poor and not reflective of student's true capabilities. Poor mechanics interferes with the poem's readability. No apparent revision done in mechanics.	Below Standards Errors are noticeable. Spelling and punctuation are fair yet not reflective of student's skills.
