6th SS: Unit 1 Performance Assessment You are an archaeologist working for the Archaeological Findings Association. You have just discovered evidence of an ancient civilization in South America that existed centuries ago. Draw a map of the civilization and label where your key findings were discovered. On the back, write 2-3 sentences that describe why each artifact proves this civilization existed. Your map should include all of the identifying factors of early civilizations. Map	Poor Map does not include information that would indicate an early civilization.	Fair Map includes some information that would indicate an early civilization.	Good Map includes a good amount of information that would indicate an early civilization.	Excellent Map goes above and beyond the requirements of information that would indicate an early civilization.
Artifiacts	Poor The artifacts are missing from the map and/or not labeled.	Fair Student does not include 3 or more artifacts, and the artifacts from the map are not fully relevant and/or not labeled.	Good Student includes 3 or more relevant artifacts, but they could be more relevant to early civilization	Excellent Student includes 3 or more relevant artifacts. The artifacts are an excellent portrayal of early civilization.
Descriptions	Poor The student is missing descriptions from their map.	Fair The student has vague and/or irrelevant descriptions of their artifacts.	Good The student has somewhat elaborate descriptions, however they are missing some key information.	Excellent The students descriptions are relevant to the artifact, accurate of early civilizations, and between 2-3 sentences each.
