U.S. Constitution In Unit 2 students will become poets, using their poetry to express their understanding of how the early U.S. developed a strong system of government. As students follow this line of inquiry they will examine various primary source documents that will ultimately be used to create a found poem that addresses the Module Guiding Questions as well as the Unit Compelling Question - What do Americans expect from their government?

Evaluation of Recipe Card Project

Students will be asked to create a new invention that will solve a problem facing the world today. Students will be allowed to demonstrate this invention in the form of a drawing. The students must include a three-paragraph paper explaining in detail their country/need, how this invention will work, be tested, and how it is inspired by Roman and/or Greek inventions.

This rubric will assess the following categories of research writing as they reflect their topics for National History Day.

This rubric will be used to evaluate your writing preparation process, speech, and the costume used in the Living Wax Museum.

1. Your group will be taking a 7 day, 6 night round trip to a chosen destination in North America. 2. You must choose at least 4 points of interest you'd like to visit during your trip. You will research each point and write about them in your journals. 3. Your entire group will have a budget of $7,000. This budget includes all expenses (gas, food, lodging, shopping, entrance fees to parks, incidentals,etc.)

Was Ancient Mesopotamia a Civilization? Your group's task is to create a website answering this question with claims and evidence to support it. Each of the 7 aspects of a civilization must have a photograph that represents an artifact from Ancient Mesopotamia which serves as your evidence. This photograph will link to another page which will represent your claim in paragraph form explaining why this evidence supports that aspect of civilization.

Select a painting/artists from the list. Select a medium and get teacher"s approval. Create a preliminary sketch and create your own artist inspired self portrait. Write an artist's statement about your work that explains your process, color choice, defined shapes and feature and reflects on your opinion on your artist's style.

After a review of the color wheel by the teacher, the student will create a creative color wheel incorporating all of the colors of the color wheel on in the proper order. The student will correctly mix and paint the correct colors on the color wheel in the correct position while creating an interesting composition.

Student will demonstrate knowledge of the seven elements and principles of art by creating a 2-D piece of artwork a knowledge of basic composition.

Using the information you know about ancient Egyptian culture, choose a modern invention that is influenced by Ancient Egypt and create an advertisement for the product.
