A rubric for choice-based projects where students are tasked to determine the details and parameters of a project based on a general direction made by the teacher. This rubric may be applied to individual or group proposals, research project proposals, or projects that require planning or project development.

The project is very original, creative and ambitious. The student is highly motivated.

Shows little or no effort, care or creativity.
The project is sloppy, illegible, crumpled, unfinished or incomplete.
Fair
Shows some effort, care and creativity.
The project is finished and turned in, but is rushed and is poorly presented.
Good
Shows good effort, care and creativity.
The project is finished and turned in on time. Shows good research, some planning, vision, and good execution.
Excellent
Shows excellent effort, care and creativity.
Final product is complete and well-presented. Shows excellent research, careful planning, and excellent execution.
