Independent Reading Rubric
Students are assessed based on their habits of reading through their periodic interactions with their journals. The ideal scenario is for students to read and pause to journal. Through their journals, students interact with their reading by asking questions, making predictions, providing sentence summaries, writing interesting words and phrases and telling more about the phrase and running a constant vocabulary inventory column on every page of their journal.
