Abstract 5 %
Abstract 5 % There is no mention here of anything relating to the variables.	Limited The abstract is a copy of the introduction or the procedure. The results are omitted or are included with no numerical values, units or errors.	Proficient The abstract becomes too long or begins to include portions that belong elsewhere in the lab. Results could be more precise, and may have a few mistakes.	Advanced The abstract gives a brief description of the experiment and its purpose, with a through explanation of the results with appropriate units and error.

Description of Experiment 10 % Summarize purpose of the experiment, the physics principles that are studied and the procedures employed. (Steps 5 & 6)	Limited The purpose is not known, and at least half of the variables are not defined or explained. Very little effort was put into the diagram, and the procedure is so confusing that a person could not replicate the experiment.	Proficient The purpose is not clearly defined, or is missing 1-2 variables with explanations in the lab. The diagram is not neat or is missing 1-2 labels. The procedure has 1-2 steps that may be unclear or ambiguous.	Advanced The purpose of the lab is clearly written, with all of the independent and dependent variables identified and explained in the context of the experiment. The diagram is clearly drawn with all of the variables labeled. The procedure has a concise and brief series of steps with an explanation of how to control the variables included.

Good faith efforts are made to describe math terms in the real world and explain divergent results. The slope and y-intercept are explained in real-world terms, and any divergent results are given a reasonable explanation.
