Informative Speech 
Students will research, organise, and deliver a speech dealing with an approved topic; performance will be evaluated in terms of the specific standards set herein, including the main areas of ORGANISATION, DELIVERY, and RESEARCH. TIME LIMIT: 4-6 minutes

Speaker maintains good eye contact with most audience members, but spoke whilst "fact-checking" 3 times or more. Alternately, referred to notes 2x per letter/#.
Decent

Speaker frequently referred to notes; not much eye contact with the audience, or else focused on one person/part of the audience, ignoring the rest.
Poor

Speaker either stared down a small segment of the audience, or else barely looked at them. Read 60-80% of the time.

Read word-for-word (from a manuscript!), looking up less than three times per minute.

Speaker uses correct pronunciation, grammar, and articulation. No verbal mis-steps. Complete lack of, like, you know, "improperly-used-real-words."

Excellent

Excellent posture with no swaying. Gestures are smooth and appropriate. There is no fidgeting. The speaker appears completely at ease.
Good

Speaker usually maintains good posture, but may sway or lean on the podium. There is a small amount of fidgeting, but the speaker appears mostly at ease. There are a few gestures.
Decent

Leaning on podium, fidgeting. There was very little gesturing and/or movement (statue-like), or else too much to seem believable and/or appropriate.
Poor

Nonverbals clue audience in on nervousness...in a big way.
Beastly

Statue or Broadway audition (in a bad way).
Demeanour

Broadcasting "I HATE THIS SPEECH!" and "I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M SPEAKING ABOUT!" in a very loud (!!) voice.
