Cover client for privacy/security	Excellent Student performs proper draping skills, keeping the client secure and private. /3	Good Student draping skills were acceptable with minimal amount of client exposure, or not holding the sheets securely as needed one time during competency. /2	Needs Improvement Client's privacy and security is not intact numerous times during competency. Student did not securely handle the sheets throughout, and/or not aware of improperly touching the client with a private area of their body. /1
Proper positioning of bolster	Excellent Student properly positions the bolster and face rest. /3	Good Bolstering and face rest positioning needs practice. Student forgot placement of client face rest and or bolster once during the competency. /2	Needs Improvement Bolstering under the client's knees/ankles or face rest is not in position when needed during the competency more than once. /1
Proper procedure for turning client	Excellent Student demonstrates proper procedures for turning the client aver by placing the face rest and bolsters accordingly to the position. Student took the bolster out prior to client turning over. Student securely holds the sheet while the client is turning over. /3	Good Student does not follow the correct procedure order of turning a client over, but does securely hold the sheet while the client is turning over. Some mistakes on placing in and taking out bolsters. /2	Needs Improvement Student forgets to place the face rest and to take the bolster out prior to client turning, and or student needs verbal assistance to take out bolster or place face rest up prior to client turning over, or student does not hold the sheet securely. /1
Communication	Excellent Demonstrates clear communication cues for receiving and turning the client over. /3	Good Student forgets to give the correct cues for the client to seat on the table, go under sheets and turn the client correctly by either not giving correct verbal instruction or a physical cue and/or student is not clear to the client where to place their face. /2	Needs Improvement Student does not give verbal instructions to the client. /1
Fluidity	Excellent Student draping skills are smooth in transitioning to one area of the body to another. Sheets are smooth throughout competency. /3	Good Student fluidity is acceptable with minimal amount of hesitation transitioning from one area to another. /2	Needs Improvement Student needs to practice draping skills for better fluidity in transitioning to one area to another. /1
Handling of the sheets/blanket (P, S, SL)	Excellent Student handles sheets appropriately while maintaining contact with the clients body as it moves (no "catching air"). P = Prone position. S = Supine position. SL = Side Lying position. /3	Good Students make minimal mistakes handling the sheets/blanket by either not undraping the extremities/back appropriately or once catching too much air while performing draping skills. P = Prone position. S = Supine position. SL = Side Lying position. /2	Needs Improvement Student does not control sheets/blanket appropriately during the competency numerous times while exposing/re-draping a body part. (sheets are sloppy or bunched). P = Prone position. S = Supine position. SL = Side Lying position. /1
Arm/Leg/Back Exposure	Excellent Student properly exposes and re-drapes the arms, legs and back correctly. /3	Good Student makes minimal errors while exposing or re-draping the arms, legs and back by not fully uncovering the extremity or by tucking the sheet into the undergarments and asking the client for approval. /2	Needs Improvement Student does not properly expose or drape-re-drape correctly throughout the competency. /1
