Elements of Understanding
	1-Well Below Standard 1 pts	2-Approaches Standard 2 pts	3- Meets Standard 3 pts	4-Exceeds Standard 4 pts
Rewrite Student understands each learning target and is able to rewrite in their own words.	1-Well Below Standard Student shows little understanding of each learning target and/or rewrite is missing.	2-Approaches Standard Student changed each learning target slightly, but shows general understanding.	3- Meets Standard Student's rewrite shows complete understanding of each learning target using different words.	4-Exceeds Standard
Questions Student asks pertinent questions to clarify each learning target.	1-Well Below Standard Student asks vague questions or no question.	2-Approaches Standard Student asks questions that begin to clarify the learning targets.	3- Meets Standard Student asks questions that completely clarify the learning targets and may also provide an answer to each.	4-Exceeds Standard
Evidence Student Displays a variety of examples that align with each learning target.	1-Well Below Standard Student does not show understanding of the learning targets.	2-Approaches Standard Student includes a partial example of each learning target.	3- Meets Standard Student includes entire examples of each learning target.	4-Exceeds Standard
Action / Level of Understanding Student rates the level of their own understanding of each learning target and shows action they will take if they rated a 1 or 2.	1-Well Below Standard Student does not rate their understanding and does not show the action they will take with a 1 or 2 rating.	2-Approaches Standard Student shows either a rating or action but not both. (action only needed if 1 or 2 rating)	3- Meets Standard Student shows both a rating and an action. (action only needed if 1 or 2 rating)	4-Exceeds Standard
