Exaggeration of Body

Excellent

Good

Actor provides exaggerated reactions and expressions throughout MOST of the pantomime through the use of facial expressions, gestures, and stance to communicate emotion and story. The actor has moments of "BIG" expression, but could get even bigger.
Fair

Actor struggles to provide exaggerated reactions and expressions during the pantomime. Expressions are subtle and don't meet the needs of a pantomime performance. Little expression in face, gestures, and stance can be witnessed. More rehearsal is needed.
Poor

Actor does not show accurate expressions and reactions. There is no exaggeration and it may even be hard to tell emotions at all. More is needed from the actor's facial expressions, gestures, and stance to communicate story and emotion. Much more rehearsal and effort is needed.
Creative Story

Excellent

Actor develops a story that is unique, engaging, comical, and is able to be effectively communicated through use of only body language. Clear thought and imagination was put into the development of the 2 minute pantomime story.
Good

Actor develops a story that is engaging, comical, and is able to be communicated through use of body language. Clear thought was put into the development of the approximately 2 minute pantomime story, but more originality could have been used.
Fair

Actor struggles to develop a coherent and engaging story. The story may not be comical or may not be easily communicated through use of body language. Although the story is 1-2 minutes in length, it is dull and general.
Poor

Actor's story is not coherent or engaging. The story is not able to be communicated well through body language and/or it may have been copied from an example in class. More time and imagination could have been put into the creation of the story.
Environmental Consistency

Excellent

Actor remains consistent with ALL movements and imaginary objects throughout the whole pantomime scene. Actor ALWAYS remembers to walk around imaginary objects, pick up and place objects in the correct space, etc.
Good

Actor remains consistent with MOST movements and imaginary objects throughout the pantomime scene. Actor generally remembers to walk around imaginary objects, pick up and place objects in the correct space, etc. but has a couple errors.
Fair

Actor struggles to remain consistent with movements and imaginary objects throughout the pantomime scene. Actor does not often remember where objects are and has multiple errors with either walking through objects, having objects suddenly disappear, etc. More practice and focus is needed.
Poor

Actor is not consistent with movements and imaginary objects throughout the pantomime scene. Actor has constant errors with either walking through objects, having objects suddenly disappear, etc. to the point that it is difficult to even understand what is happening. Much more practice and focus is needed.
Use of Movement

Excellent

Actor moves with a purpose throughout the pantomime scene. Actor has considered use of space, levels, cheating out, etc. when blocking the movements onstage. Much thought has been put into movement to help communicate the story.
Good

Actor moves throughout the pantomime scene. Actor has considered use of space, levels, cheating out, etc. when blocking the movements onstage. It is clear thought has been put into the movements onstage, but at times there is too much unnecessary moving or moments when more movement is needed.
Fair

Actor struggles to move during the pantomime scene. Actor uses some of the stage space, but may not include levels or regularly cheat out. More effort is needed to block the movements onstage.
Poor

Actor moves minimally onstage, if at all. Actor is not able to communicate the story and use the stage space, levels, and/or cheating out. Much more rehearsal is needed.
Staying in Character

Excellent
