This rubric will be used to score student book projects. The student grade will be a combination of their project and their knowledge of the book's narrative elements.

Students goes above learning expectations.	Secure Project demonstrates a secure comprehension of text using details from the text and providing examples of setting, events characters, and literary elements.	Developing Project demonstrates fair comprehension of text using details from the text and providing examples of setting, events characters, and literary elements.	Beginning Project demonstrates poor comprehension of text using details from the text and providing examples of setting, events characters, and literary elements.
Adherence to Guidelines	Exceeds Student does an excellent job adhering to directions and is highly visually appealing. Students takes initiative to beyond expectations.	Secure Student does a secure job adhering to directions and is visually appealing.	Developing Student does a fair job adhering to directions and is somewhat visually appealing.	Beginning Student does a poor job of adhering to directions and lacks visual appeal or student did not complete project.
Quality Product	Exceeds Project is readable, clean, neat and attractive. It is free of erasures and crossed-out words. It looks like the student took great pride in it. Student produces a quality product.	Secure Project is readable, neat and attractive. It may have one or two erasures, but they are not distracting. It looks like the student took pride in it. Student produces a quality product.	Developing Project is readable and some of the pages are attractive. It looks like thought and care was not given to completion of project.
