	Excellent 50 pts	Good 40 pts	Fair 30 pts	Poor 20 pts
Thesis (Big Idea) 35 %	Excellent One cohesive big or main idea from the novel is clearly communicated in a way that everyone in the audience can understand.	Good One cohesive big or main idea from the novel is communicated in a way that most of the audience can understand.	Fair Majority of the audience has trouble determining the big idea.	Poor Audience cannot determine the big idea being presented.
Organization 40 %	Excellent Student presents information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow. Many details from the text and at least one credible outside source are used to support chosen big idea.	Good Student presents information in logical sequence which audience can follow. A sufficient number of details from the text are used to support chosen big idea. No sources beyond the text are used.	Fair Audience has difficulty following presentation because student jumps around. Few details from the text are used to support the chosen big idea.	Poor Audience cannot understand presentation because there is no sequence of information. No details from the text are used to support the chosen big idea.
Visual Aid(s) 15 %	Excellent Visual aid(s) (video, pictures, poster, PowerPoint, etc) strongly reinforce the big idea. Visual choices are creative and original.	Good Visual aid(s) reinforce the big idea. Visual choices lack originality or uniqueness.	Fair Visual aid(s) loosely relate to the big idea.	Poor No visual aids are used or they do not support the big idea.
Partcipation 10 %	Excellent All group members participate equally.	Good All group members participate.	Fair Majority of group members participate.	Poor Majority of group members do not participate.
