The Abstract
Using the Internet, the student will find two recent (last 5 years) scholarly articles about criminals/prisoners who have been wrongly convicted of a crime or even put to death for a criminal activity they never committed. The student may elect to find articles on criminals who have escaped punishment and committed criminal activities again. The student must use proper citation of the articles using a Citation generator online. Articles must have an author! First, read over the articles. Next, reverse outline the articles. Comparing your reverse outlines to the abstracts, identify which structural and content elements from the articles are included and which are left out. Finally, write up a template, or road-map, of what the abstract of a scientific article should include and what the rhetorical and practical purpose of the abstract is.
