This rubric is used to score students' book projects based on their independent reading. Book projects were chosen by each student based upon their strengths using Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligence test

Language Usage	AS Project demonstrates excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation and capitalization with few or no errors.	PW Project demonstrates good spelling, grammar, punctuation and capitalization with some errors.	NI Project demonstrates fair spelling, grammar, punctuation and capitalization with several errors.	NP Project demonsrates poor spelling, grammar, punctuation and capitalization with many errors.
Following Project Directions	AS Project does an excellent job following directions of chosen option.	PW Project does a good job following directions of chosen option.	NI Project does a fair job following directions of chosen option.	NP Project does a poor job of following directions.
Creativity	AS The project contains many creative details and/or descriptions.	PW The project contains a few creative details and/or descriptions. Neatness	AS The final draft is readable, clean, neat and attractive. If pictures were used, they are neat, comprehensible, and use color. It looks like the author took great pride in it.
