Rhythm Composition Rhythm Composition Students will use notes and rests to compose a 10-15 measure composition. The composition should include a combination of whole, half, quarter, and eighth notes and rests. They will create their composition in a meter of two, three, or four. Notation	Effective The composition contains a combination of whole, half, quarter, and eighth notes and rest	Basic The composition consists of five or fewer different kinds of notes and rests	Needs Improvment The composition consists of only three or fewer different kinds of notes or rests
Length	Effective The composition is 10-15 measures long or more	Basic The composition is only 9 or fewer measures	Needs Improvment The composition is less than 6 measures long
Rhythms	Effective The rhythms fit accurately into the established meter	Basic The rhythms do not consistently fit into the established meter (in fewer than 6 measures)	Needs Improvment The rhythms do not fit accurately into the established meter
