Rhythm	Superior Performance is rhythmically accurate. Rhythms are played as written.	Good Performance is rhythmically accurate most of the time. Most rhythms are played as written.	Fair Performance is sometimes rhythmically accurate. Errors are frequent, and some rhythms are played as written.	Poor Performance is rarely rhythmically accurate. Rhythms are seldom played as written and errors are extremely frequent.
Note Accuracy	Superior Pitches are read and played correctly.	Good Pitches are mostly read and played correctly. A few errors are performed.	Fair Pitches are sometimes read and played correctly. Errors are frequently performed.	Poor Pitches are inaccurately read and played. Errors are extremely frequent.
Tone	Superior Tone is full and supported with excellent air. Sound demonstrates mature concepts of tone production.	Good Tone is full most of the time and supported with good air. Sound demonstrates an at-level concept of tone production.	Fair Tone is full sometimes, but usually lacks the appropriate air support to create a good sound.	Poor Tone is rarely full, and lacks the appropriate air support used in making a good sound.
Musicality	Superior Performance is expressive and exemplifies correct concepts of style.	Good Performance is mostly expressive and exemplifies correct concepts of style with a few errors.	Fair Performance lacks musical expression sometimes.	Poor Performance maintains no musical expression.
