Speech to Persuade
Students will give a persuasive speech over a topic of their choice that falls under the three categories of persuasion: question of fact, value, or policy. They will be assessed on use of persuasive language, content and style of delivery. Speeches need to be a minimum of 7 minutes long and no longer than 9 minutes.

Logical progression of thoughts, but transitions are awkward. An attempt at structure is present, but can be illogical or inconsistent.
Developing
There appears to be no clear structure of thoughts. Ideas lack direction. Transitions are awkward.
Emerging
Lack of organization or details. Transitions are nonexistent.

Speaker reads the speech and/or rarely looks at the audience.
Emerging
Speaker made no eye contact with the audience at all.
