RAFT Format	Beginning Writer presents a RAFT that does not clearly identify a role, audience or topic. Coverage of role, audience and topic is not yet sufficient.	Developing Writer follows RAFT by properly identifying the role, audience, and topic. The RAFT either retells the story without developing the topic OR develops the topic without reference to the story.	Competent Writer follows RAFT by properly identifying the role, audience, and topic. The RAFT partially develops the topic using the story.	Accomplished Writer follows RAFT by designing a piece(s) that make(s) evident the role, audience, and topic. The RAFT develops the topic using the story.
