The Lead sheet	Exemplary The lead sheet is easy to read, contains all lyrics, labels such as verse, chorus, bridge, and contains chords listed in the correct place in the lyrics. The best of the best.	Proficient The lead sheet is easy to read, contains the lyrics, labels such as verse, bridge, chorus, and lists the chord changes. Among the best.	Developing The lead sheet has some level of all the lyrics, chords and labels. The sheet may need to be refined to show the user exactly where the parts fit together. Pretty good.	Beginning The lead sheet lacks complete lyrics, or a chord structure that follows the lyrics, or identifiable form markers. Needs work.
Explanation of the song	Exemplary The student performs the song, explains all the parts, including the story of how it was written or recorded. They really "get" this song.	Proficient The student performs the song pretty well, explains most of the parts, and maybe has a story about the song. They pretty much "get" this song.	Developing The student performs the song with mistakes or stops and starts. S/he knows who wrote and recorded the song, but not much else.	Beginning The student demonstrates a lack of preparation for explaining the song, losing their place, repeating sections or leaving parts unexplained.
Class Understanding	Exemplary You, as the student completely get what the presenter is explaining. If there are any questions the presenter gives a great answer.	Proficient You follow what the presenter is explaining.	Developing You have a decent idea of what the presenter is explaining. Some questions go unanswered.	Beginning You cannot follow what the presenter is telling you, or the presenter doesn't have a grasp of his/her own material.
