Supporting details	Excellent Writing includes science vocabulary terms and all 5 questions answered.	Good Some science vocabulary is included and 3 or 4 questions are answered.	Fair One or two science vocabulary terms are included and less than 3 questions are answered.
Supporting details	Excellent Each detail supports, or tells more about the topic. Follow up sentences provide additional support.	Good Each detail supports the main idea, but there are no follow up sentences.	Fair Some of the details support the main idea, but there are some that do not.
Logical order	Excellent The essay is developed in a logical order appropriate to the writer's purpose and reader's needs.	Good Most of the essay is presented in a logical order, and readers have little trouble following the supporting details.	Fair The writer attempts to develop the essay in a logical order, but some of the essay may be presented in an order readers may find confusing.
