The students will be given this rubric to evaluate each other in their literature groups.

Readers' Workshop Group
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts
Familiarity with reading	Poor Group member displayed little or no knowlege of the assigned reading.	Fair Group member displayed some knowledge of reading, but was not overly familiar with all parts of the book.	Good Group member displayed extensive knowledge of the reading and could refer to various parts of the book to support answers.
Prepared for assigned role	Poor Group member was not prepared for assigned role in the group and was unable to perform role.	Fair Group member did some preparation, but was not fully prepared. Student was able to partially perform role.	Good Group member was completely compared for assigned role and was able to completely perform role.
Participation	Poor Group member displayed little or no participation in the discussion. Group member provided no contributions.	Fair Group member participated some in the discussion. Group member responded to others, but provided no unique contributions.	Good Group member was an active participant in the discussion and provided unique contributions based his/her opinions on the readings.
Courtesy/Respect	Poor Group member was rude and did not wait until others were finished speaking to insert an opinion.	Fair Group member was fairly polite, but sometimes interrupted others and did not wait for their turn to speak.	Good Group member was courteous to all group members and waited until others were finished speaking to begin talking.
