Intro	Excellent Clear attention getter which connected to speech. Clarified narrow focus of talk. Ended with thesis previewing the main points	Good Speaker only introduced the goal. Directly went into thesis.	Fair Speaker began with specific goal. Stated thesis than attention getter. Needed to restructure the format to follow "A" .	Poor Speaker went directly to explain the objects without the proper introduction. Speech lacked overall organization.
Body	Excellent Main points from thesis restated precisely in the body. Gave equal support. Language was detailed and suited to the audience. Transitions were evident and fitting.	Good Speaker reversed the order of the main points. Details were not balanced. Language was too conversational. Used a transition.	Fair Speaker use similar words but didn't directly restate the thesis. Speaker spoke far too long on one idea not allowing time. Easy to understand. Transitions hard to separate.	Poor Did not follow the assignment. Language was not appropriate. Speaker just went off the top of their head.
Conclusion	Excellent Restated the thesis. Ended in the same way speech began. Topic appropriate. Followed time limit 2 minutes.	Good Speech was missing either missing thesis or return to attention getter. Speech ended 30 seconds under time.	Fair Speaker introduced new information in the conclusion. Speech used persuasive appeal. Speech was under by :40 seconds.	Poor Speech lacked a formal conclusion it just ended. Conclusion was there but hard to distinguish. Speaker ran over time and there was no conclusion.
Delivery	Excellent Eye Contact 85% or higher which scanned entire audience. Lively facial expression & gestures matched the message. No verbal pauses. Polished delivery. Enthusiastic voice	Good Eye Contact was in 75% range. Seemed slightly nervous. Little movement almost a bit stiffed. Used 3-5 filler or unfilled pauses. Needed one more practice.	Fair Reasonable eye contact in 60%. Remained behind the podium. Little or no movement. Deliver was matter of fact, here is what you need to know. Needed to practice a few more times. 5-10 fillers or pauses.	Poor Read from a script or memorized. No audience interaction. Clearly unprepared. Excess of filler or pauses.
