Hopkins - DAA Beginning Band Composition 
Beginning Band Students will use common rhythms and simple melodic gestures to compose a 16 measure composition in 4/4 time. Students will have numerous class periods to complete the assignment. It will be notated using Note Flight. Students will also turn in a self reflection describing the cognitive process they used in developing their composition. Students must be able to perform the composition on their band instrument.
